156th Fête du Canada Day Celebration-Parc-Ex goes forward in Parc-Extension; others cancelled due to smog, rainy weather

Despite threat of rain and the poor air quality in the city of Montreal last Saturday, Parc-Extension celebrated the 156th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. Hundreds of people turned out for the Canada Day Celebration at Parc-Ex. While some neighborhoods decided to cancel their festivities,

Parc-Ex gathered at the Place de la Gare Jean Talon for this great event as scheduled and it was hosted by the National Bangladeshi-Canadian Council (NBCC)
It’s Canada’s largest celebration with Canadian multicultural communities happening in Parc-Extension, Montreal. Thousands of people attended with their children dressed in red and white come to the lawns of Place de Gare Jean-Talon across from MAXI, a supermarket above Metro Parc, on Saturday, July 1st to celebrate Canada’s 156th Canada Day.
Canadian flags flew as the local community sang the Canadian national anthem with lots of children in attendance. Tattoos and gifts were given to attendees. The event was MCed by Samiha Hossain, Youth Ambassador of NBCC.
For the 19th edition of this celebration in Parc-Extension started from around 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There was music with a free BBQ along with 6-foot Canada Day themed cakes. The cake was cut by Monir Hossain and Nazia Hossain, coordinator of the celebration and vice president of the NBCC, accompanies by the constituency team of the Hon. Justin Trudeau, MP for Papineau and Prime Minister of Canada, Ms. Stavroula Daklaras and Ms. India La Haye, and director of the Maxi grocery store, Mr. Alexandre Brissette, along with volunteers, citizens and children who were present at the event.

A 155th Canada Day in Park-Extension - 2022 post-pandemic with success and fun

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Council of Bangladeshi-Canadians (NBCC) organized the 155th Canada Day in Park-Extension following the multiple restrictions related to the pandemic, which gave a successful result in the format of an outdoor event that was able to gather hundreds of people.
It’s Canada’s largest annual celebration with multicultural Canadian communities in Park-Extension, Montreal. Participants attended with their children on the lawns of Place de Gare Jean-Talon in front of Maxi, a supermarket above Parc metro, on Friday July 1st, 2022 to celebrate the 155th Canada Day.

low-scale distributions on July 1st, 2021 for its 154th Celebration of Canada Day in Park-Extension

The National Bangladeshi-Canadian Council has organized two low-scale distributions on July 1st, 2021 for its 154th Celebration of Canada Day in Park-Extension. Paper flags and ttems of Canada Day were distributed to residents of the neighborhood in front of the Marché Provigo (Place de la Gare Jean-Talon) at noon as well as at Howard Park during the afternoon.
Families and children were happy and the message of solidarity today was stronger as ever.
We would like to thank Heritage Canada for the items as well as our volunteers that have helped throughout the distributions.
We will host our event in a larger scale on August 13th, 2021 so please follow our social media for updated news. In the meantime, Happy Canada Day!

The district of Parc-Extension is the perfect place to celebrate Canada’s birthday on July 1! Fantastic family-friendly events run throughout the day, including free BBQ. From bands to balloon face tattoo to birthday cake, Parc-Ex has something for every family. The day opens at 12 pm and the BBQ starts at 1:30 pm. The full-day celebrations are capped off with a spectacular evening multicultural display.
